British Science Week 2018

Here at messy monkeys HQ we’re firm believers that science begins with messy play – our monkeys are always asking ‘how and why’ as the explore the themes we create for them.

To mark British Science Week (9th – 18th March 2018) we’re super excited to have been speaking to the people behind the amazing AugmentifyIt® which is an Augmented Reality app designed to bring Science to life for young children!  We’ve tested it out and you can actually see minibeasts crawling out of your page or screen! Awesome!

Messy Monkeys sessions have been planned to closely follow Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Guidelines supporting the 3 Prime Areas of Physical Development, Communication & Language and Personal, Social and Emotional Development… we hit more of the standards than you can shake a glitter covered glue stick at! Child centered learning is at the heart of the EYFS and that’s what we do best!

What makes our fab franchisees so… FAB?!?

Since messy monkeys launched *8* years ago -EIGHT! – we’ve learnt a lot about how to make our classes FAB for sensory exploration!  When you choose a messy monkeys class you can be sure that all our fab franchisees are not only madly enthusiastic about messy play but fully trained in paediatric first aid and subject to stringent police checks. We won’t allow anyone to don the famous dungarees without proving they are passionate about giving children the freedom they need to explore the world around them in our very special messy monkeys way… we’re VERY proud of team messy monkeys !

Messy Monkeys has welcome tens of thousands of monkeys through it’s paint splattered doors since 2010 and become quite the expert in creating an environment where even the most reluctant explorers have every opportunity to develop their confidence. We don’t allow ‘drop ins’ as we closely monitor the numbers taking part in our sessions to prevent the activities from becoming overcrowded, we keep classes small to develop trusting relationships and provide the space our little explorers need to really get stuck into the mess!
