Swapping the classroom for the messy mat…

Here at Messy Monkeys HQ we welcome lots of lovely people to join our team, from all manner of different backgrounds.  Recently we’ve welcomed Susan through our paint splattered doors to run messy play classes for babies and toddlers in Newcastle and North Tyneside.

Susan is a qualified primary school teacher with over thirty years’ experience of working with children aged 0- 11.  After nearly twenty years in the classroom, she decided to embrace a complete change of career – she loves watching babies and toddlers explore through messy play and passionately believes that this is how children best learn and discover new skills.  Susan is excited to be running messy play classes for babies and toddlers in Whitley Bay, Gosforth and Heaton from 2018.

Although this is a big change for Susan, she won’t be leaving teaching altogether – as well as her fantastic messy play classes for babies and toddlers she’s running messy science classes for big boys and girls too!

“Messy Science is fantastic for developing enthusiasm for STEM subjects… that’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths…” Susan tell us, “… but the classes are very different from school… I’m excited to allow my new pupils to get as messy as they like!”
